Matthew C. Watson, DMD

Matthew Watson was raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey. After undergraduate studies at Temple University and Stockton College, he graduated dental school from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1994. Dr Watson maintains memberships in American Dental Association, SC Dental Association, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He holds completion certificates in Invisalign, Clear Correct and Tip Edge Orthodontics. Dr Watson has completed extensive continuing education hours in Implant Dentistry, Periodontal Surgery, Orthodontics, Cosmetic Dentistry and Endodontics.

Outside of the office, Dr Watson enjoys offshore fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. Dr Watson is married to Katie and has 2 children, Tori and Hunter.

Scott Gawrych, DMD

Scott Gawrych, Jr. was born and raised here in Mount Pleasant. From Wando High School, Dr. Gawrych completed his undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks!). He graduated in 2018 from the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. After dental school, Dr. Gawrych completed a 2-year General Practice Residency at DCG where he received extensive training in IV conscious sedation, implant dentistry, complex restorative dentistry, and oral surgery. Dr. Gawrych is a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and maintains a membership in the American Dental Association and SC Dental Association. In his free time, he loves spending time with his family, golfing, fishing, and hunting in the Lowcountry. In 2022, Dr. Gawrych married the love of his life Chandler, and in August 2023, they welcomed their beautiful daughter Parker to the world. Together they have a yellow lab named Tucker, and a goldendoodle named Riley!

M. Hunter Watson, DMD

Born and raised amidst the charming landscapes of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Dr. Hunter Watson’s unwavering commitment to dental excellence is deeply rooted in his origins. Graduating from Wando High School in 2012, he embarked on a remarkable academic journey that led him to The Citadel, where he earned his degree in 2016, honing his values of discipline and service.

Dr. Watson’s pursuit of knowledge led him to attain his dental degree from the Dental College of Georgia in 2021, followed by a two-year General Practice Residency that honed his skills. With a deep passion for community welfare, he accepted a position in Greenwood, SC, where he offered essential dental care to an underserved community.

Dr. Watson’s professional strengths and interests encompass a range of advanced techniques including implants, sedation dentistry, and esthetics. Driven by a desire to transform lives, he takes immense pride in delivering painless dentistry and playing a pivotal role in restoring his patients’ smiles and self-confidence.

Beyond the dental chair, Dr. Watson’s enthusiasm for hunting, fishing, and nurturing chickens and honey bees showcases his profound connection with nature and his surroundings. In 2022, he embraced a new chapter as he married Sydney, and in 2023, the couple joyfully welcomed their son, Banks, into their lives. Their canine companions, Bruce the Great Dane and Quigley the dachshund, complete their loving household.

Dr. Hunter Watson plans on joining the Coastal Family Dentistry team in January, 2024.
